2. Justin Crawford, Kennedy McKoy combine for 250 rushing yards
The running back combination of senior Justin Crawford and sophomore Kennedy McKoy is nothing short of lethal for the Mountaineers. Crawford got the main workload on the offense so far with 43 carries for 326 yards and five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, McKoy is just under 100 rushing yards with one touchdown. However, he is still averaging more than 5.0 yards per carry. The efficiency from Crawford is the most incredible part of his stat line. He’s averaging 7.6 yards per carry.
Part of the reason for the huge production from the West Virginia ground game has been the lack of quality front sevens that they have faced so far. Delaware State and ECU are not known for stopping the run.
This is one of the last chances that the Mountaineers will have to turn to the ground attack early. Kansas could hang tough for a while but West Virginia will ultimately pull away. Crawford and McKoy could easily help the Mountaineers get more than 250 rushing yards.
