Texas A&M Football: 3 bold predictions for SEC opener vs. Arkansas
By Zach Bigalke
Texas A&M and Arkansas square off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. How will the SEC season start off for both schools at Jerry World?
The rivalry game between Texas A&M and Arkansas was played annually between 1934 and 1991. Then the Razorbacks left the Southwest Conference for the SEC, and the series went dormant for nearly two decades. Revived back in 2009 when the Aggies were still in the Big 12, the game has now become a regular fixture in the early-season SEC schedule.
Arkansas leads the all-time series between the two schools 41-28-3. But Texas A&M has now won five straight and will be looking to make it six in a row on Saturday night. Both sides will be looking to start off conference play with a critical win, after dropping a non-conference contest in the first few weeks of the season.
It is the seventh time in nine years that these two teams have met at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Most of the games between the Razorbacks and Aggies at the venue have been close affairs, and this year’s contest will likely provide more of the same.
