Arkansas Football: 5 Reasons the Razorbacks will beat the Aggies
Arkansas football and Texas A&M both had rocky starts but Bret Bielema could start to turn things around with a win over the Aggies on Saturday.
This Saturday brings Arkansas and Southwest Conference rival, Texas A&M face to face. This season’s Southwest Classic has been set up as a pivotal game for both teams and a much-needed win.
Although the Aggies and Razorbacks have struggled this season, A&M is only a slight favorite in the matchup according to the ESPN FPI. It will be both team’s SEC season opener and for Arkansas, history is not on their side. Texas A&M has won five consecutive games in this series.

Looking at the schedule for Arkansas before the season started, the placement of the bye week had many a bit worried. No one wants their one weekend a year off to be after game two. Especially if they are getting ready for a run through the SEC West.
Things don’t always pan out how we think and for the Razorbacks, the bye week could be a season-saving opportunity. After an embarrassing loss to TCU, Arkansas needed to take a step back for reflection.
Arkansas was lost. Their offense got destroyed against TCU and needed to figure out some critical issues. If the Hogs stand a chance they took this time to get problems fixed. Bielema and his Hogs can come out and show the country they are not their mistakes from two weeks ago.
As hard as it will be to overcome, these problems can be fixed. It all comes down to having the time to get it done. The bye week that we all cringed at very well could have been a blessing in disguise. For Bielema to show he can get the ship right would cut down on a lot of talk about his future at Arkansas.
