3. Alabama’s running game is better than ever
The score at halftime between Vanderbilt and Alabama Saturday was 31-0, thanks in large part to a two-headed deployment in the backfield. Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough each toted the rock nine times, combining for 181 yards and four touchdowns for Alabama – before halftime.
Things continued in the second half for the Crimson Tide as they’d add 28 more to the scoreboard.
Alabama was unstoppable on the ground, raking up over 500 yards before a few late kneels dropped them below that mark. The duo of Harris and Scarbrough finished with 230 yards and five touchdowns. Freshman standout Najee Harris added 70 yards on his 10 carries as well. Quarterback Jalen Hurts also added 48 rushing yards.
Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are used to using multiple running backs, and this year is no different. Gone are the days of Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy, T.J. Yeldon and Derrick Henry, though. Welcome to the Damien Harris-Bo Scarbrough-Najee Harris era; you won’t be able to stop these guys either!
