The Auburn football program needed one more big win in the SEC before they moved into their toughest part of the conference schedule this year.

The Auburn Tigers finally got a chance to unleash their offense against an SEC opponent in Week 4. That unfortunate SEC foe was the Missouri Tigers, a team that is struggling to win games again in 2017. Head coach Barry Odom needs to make something happen fast.

Things look to be falling apart rather quickly for Mizzou after winning their season opener against the Missouri State Bears. Junior quarterback Drew Lock is not enough for this team to rely on moving forward. The defense is just not good enough to compete in the SEC.

Auburn also came into this one with a chip on their shoulder because of the negative results they had over the last two weeks against the Clemson Tigers and Mercer Bears. Turnovers proved costly in their matchup last weekend with Mercer. However, they still came out with the 24-10 victory when it was all said and done.

This game became a blowout in the first half. Mizzou did not get on the board until the second quarter, and that was only with seven points. Auburn went into halftime with a 31-7 lead, which put Mizzou against the odds, big time, in the second half.

While the Mizzou offense has a lot of firepower, it doesn’t even seem to be enough in SEC play to compete with nearly anyone. Lock and running back Damarea Crockett played well in this matchup, but nothing came of it.

Now, let’s take a look at three takeaways from Auburn’s win over Mizzou in Week 4.
