Oklahoma State football opened up Big 12 play against the TCU Horned Frogs this week. Here’s a look at three takeaways from their 44-31 loss.

It was a first half to forget for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, as they trailed for the first time all season at halftime, 20-10. The TCU Horned Frogs jumped out to a 6-0 lead, marching down to the red zone in their first two possessions. Then James Washington happened.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph found Washington for an 86 yards bomb. It was his 30th-career receiving touchdown and it gave the Cowboys a 7-6 lead late in the first quarter. The Horned Frogs would answer back with a score of their own to go up 13-7 in the second quarter.

Rudolph would fumble the ball for Oklahoma State on the next possession and the Horned Frogs scored once again to jump out to a 20-7 lead.

The Cowboys did get an interception right before halftime, but another three-and-out left them punting for their second time in the game. The second half was more of the same as Rudolph threw an interception on the fifth play of their first drive. The Horned Frogs turned that into more points go up 27-10 and never looked back.

Here’s what we learned from a Top 25 showdown in the Big 12.
