With a wide-open catch and run, Texas A&M football star receiver Christian Kirk tied the score midway through the first quarter against Arkansas at AT&T Stadium.

The Razorbacks took an early lead in the annual rivalry showdown between Arkansas and Texas A&M. With a toe-tapping catch in the endzone, Jared Cornelius put Arkansas ahead 7-0.

The lead did not last long, though, as Texas A&M needed just three plays to level the score. On third and six from their own 19-yard line, the Aggies exploited holes in the Razorbacks secondary. When you have a speedy wideout like Christian Kirk, it becomes much easier to pick apart defenses.

Kellen Mond took the snap and immediately felt pressure from the Arkansas defense. Rolling right, he avoided the onrushing defenders and zipped a throw on the run to Kirk. The receiver snatched the ball in stride and darted down the right sideline. Pulling away from the coverage, Kirk raced quickly toward the goal line.

Striking a pose in the endzone, Kirk made the most of his first catch on Saturday. Mond and Kirk are beginning to develop a solid rapport in the Texas A&M passing game. The catch gives the veteran receiver touchdown catches in three straight games, and his first of the season in conference play.

Midway through the first quarter, Texas A&M and Arkansas remain tied at 7-7 after big passing plays on both sides. None, though, were bigger than the run for daylight engineered by Mond and Kirk early in the contest. If he keeps up this level of production, Kirk could more than double his receiving production at this point of the season.
