We’re a month into the college football season and boy what a week it was in the Top 25 ranks. Did any upsets shake up the College Football Playoff projections.

Week 4 of the college football season wasn’t a quiet one as a few upsets shook up the landscape of the college football rankings.

The sixth-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys were the highest-ranked team to fall in Week 4. They fell at home to the 16th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, 44-31. The Cowboys fall from grace after turning the ball over four times. Wide receiver James Washington still had six catches for 153 receiving yards and a touchdown, but the Cowboys were held at bay for much of the contest.

The 12th-ranked Florida State Seminoles also took their second loss of the season. They remain winless after two weeks off due to the damage caused by Hurricane Irma. The Seminoles showed their rust as they fell 27-21 at home to the NC State Wolfpack.

However, last week’s top four teams remain undefeated in the aftermath. The fourth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions played a tough game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. They won on the final play of the game, 21-19. It took a seven-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trace McSorley to wide receiver Juwan Johnson.

The effort put McSorley and company on the College Football Playoff radar and for good reason. After a not-so-spectacular game on offense, McSorley drove Penn State 65 yards down the field and won the game with a passing touchdown.

That’s where this week’s College Football Playoff projections as we take a look at the top four projections.
