Loser: Oklahoma State Cowboys

No. 6 in the AP Poll down to No. 15

The 15th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys took a tumble in the Week 5 AP Poll rankings after putting up a subpar performance in Week 4 against TCU. The Cowboys looked like they shook off some early mistakes when quarterback Mason Rudolph connected with wide receiver James Washington on an 86-yard strike to put them up 7-6.

However, the Horned Frogs marched the ball right back down the field to go right back up 13-7. Oklahoma State fumbled on their next possession and the route was on as TCU jumped out to a 20-7 lead.

The Cowboys were able to whittle the deficit down to six points, but a 42-yard rushing touchdown by TCU’s Darius Anderson all but closed the door on their attempt at a comeback.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph didn’t have his best game as he was responsible for three of the Cowboys’ four turnovers. Their third interception came on a questionable double-pass that gave the Horned Frogs the ball back with Oklahoma State driving down the field.

The loss puts a damper on the Cowboys’ slim chance at a run at a national title. They still have to face the Oklahoma Sooners but they’ll need for the Sooners to lose or another top-ranked team to improve their chances.
