The Ole Miss football program gets their biggest test of the season in Week 5 against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.

The one team that has given the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide fits over the past three years is the Ole Miss Rebels. Former quarterbacks Chad Kelly and Bo Wallace would not let Alabama ever notch an easy victory.

However, now it’s turn for the star sophomore quarterback Shea Patterson and sophomore wide receiver A.J. Brown to take a crack at the Tide. Patterson and Brown got the week off in Week 4 as it was Ole Miss’s bye.

Through three games, Patterson tossed 11 touchdowns and totaled nearly 1,300 passing yards. Brown has 16 catches for 389 yards and four touchdowns and he did not even play against the Cal Golden Bears in Week 3.

Considering how easy it looked for Alabama to take down the Vanderbilt Commodores over the weekend, Ole Miss could be their toughest opponent since the Florida State Seminoles in the season opener. However, even Florida State is proving to be worse than expected since the injury to quarterback Deondre Francois.

All eyes of fans in the SEC West should be on this Alabama-Ole Miss game in Week 5. Ole Miss has defeated Alabama in two of their last three meetings. And, Ole Miss has the air attack to at least give the Tide a scare. Young quarterbacks have given Alabama trouble in the past.

This year, Bryant-Denny Stadium is the site of this rivalry game. That could help sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts get a quick start against the Rebels. However, he has his most talented quarterback opposition of the year on the other sideline in Patterson. Brown will give the Alabama secondary some problems also.
