TCU Football: 5 overreactions from win over Oklahoma State
The TCU football program notched their biggest win since 2015 by defeating the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the road in Week 4.
The No. 9 TCU Horned Frogs defeated the No. 15 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 4 to make a statement on the national level. However, entering the game, TCU was ranked No. 16 and Oklahoma State No. 6. Both teams ended up pretty much flip-flopping in the rankings. Wins from the Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines limited TCU’s jump in the AP Poll.
From here on out, Oklahoma State cannot lose another game if they want even a slim shot at the College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, TCU established themselves right at the top of the Big 12 with the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners. The Oklahoma-TCU should be the game to watch in the Big 12 now that Oklahoma State lost.
Many were skeptical of this TCU team after having a shootout with the SMU Mustangs the week before. And, with how good Oklahoma State looked against the Pitt Panthers, the chances that TCU was going to slow down the offense did not look good either.
Head coach Gary Patterson and the Frogs proved doubters wrong as they cruised to a 44-31 victory over the Pokes at Boone Pickens Stadium, in Stillwater, OK. Quarterback Kenny Hill is making a statement by showing off his progress from last season until now.
The injury to starting running back Kyle Hicks did not seem to phase the Frogs as Darius Anderson took control of the game and outran Oklahoma State. There was little that head coach Mike Gundy could do to swing the game in Oklahoma State’s favor at any point.
Now, let’s take a look at five overreactions from TCU’s win over Oklahoma State.
