2. Travin Howard is ready for the NFL

The Frogs have been one of the more consistent producers of NFL defensive talent in the Big 12. Defensive end Jerry Hughes, linebacker Josh Carraway, safety Derrick Kindred, and cornerback Jason Verrett are just a few examples of that.

The next player up for TCU seems to be linebacker Travin Howard. He was all over the field against Oklahoma State and led the team in tackles. Howard racked up eight total tackles including one tackle for loss.

It was hard to know what to expect from this TCU defense entering the season. They gave up only seven points to the Arkansas Razorbacks and now held an Oklahoma State offense that was averaging more than 50 points per game to just 31.

Much of the recognition of stopping the Oklahoma State ground game with running back Justice Hill goes to Howard. He rarely let Hill, or whatever Oklahoma State rusher got the ball, to get far past the line of scrimmage. NFL scouts will soon take notice.
