If you watched the game on Saturday morning, you know that Landis Durham came to play. Number 46 finished the game with five total tackles, two sacks and a quarterback hit. On top of that, all he had to talk about after the game was his family. This is the kind of guy you want on the field for your team.

After only seeing action in four games last season, Durham has completed his transition from linebacker to defensive end and become an everyday starter. And boy is he making good on every chance he gets as he was up in Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen’s face early and often on Saturday morning.

He leads the team in sacks and is emerging as a leader on a young defensive front for the Aggies. With big losses like Dae Dae Hall and Myles Garrett at his position, Durham has big shoes to fill. However, so far he is doing pretty well at filling them.

He will be truly put to the test against the likes of Alabama and Mississippi State. However, he can get Jalen Hurts and Nick Fitzgerald under pressure the way he did Austin Allen, the Aggies may be in good shape to compete as the season wears on. The Aggies need as much help as they can get on the defensive side of the ball and if Durham can be consistent, he may just be the guy the team leans on as they jump head first into SEC play.

There is a long road ahead for the junior defensive end and his team, but on Saturday he was the star of the defensive show and definitely earned his helmet sticker.
