Virginia Tech football: 5 players who earned game balls vs. Old Dominion
The Virginia Tech Hokies defense did some shifting over the offseason with safety Terrell Edmunds moving to the free safety position. That left a vacancy in the secondary at the strong safety position and sophomore Reggie Floyd seems to have fit in quite nicely.

Floyd had four tackles, half a tackle for loss and a forced fumble in the game for the Hokies defense. He’s stepped up nicely, starting in all four games for Virginia Tech this season.
He’s got 20 tackles, a pass breakup in 2017. After forcing the first turnover of his career, Floyd is sure to contribute more in this Virginia Tech secondary. They allowed just 149 total yards of offense to Old Dominion in Week 4, forcing them to six three-and-outs.
Floyd overcame a lot of the preseason hype surrounding incoming four-star recruit Devon Hunter, another talented safety for the Hokies. Floyd is a three-star recruit himself out of Manassas, Virginia. He’s earned the starting job after appearing in 12 games in 2016.
All eyes will be on Floyd and the Virginia Tech secondary in Week 5 as they face a talented Clemson Tigers offense.
