Linebacker. USC. Cameron Smith. 19. player. 28.

The biggest position of need for the Oakland Raiders is the linebacker spot. Barring Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin, this front seven needs a lot of help. The Washington Redskins also exposed some bigger holes in the entire Oakland defense in Week 3.

This team has one of the brightest futures in the NFL, thanks to guys like quarterback Derek Carr, receiver Amari Cooper, and defensive end Khalil Mack. However, they need to continue drafting well to stay competitive in a very good AFC West.

Competing with teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos can wear on a franchise. If Oakland continues to build their defense and develop a strong group of linebackers, they’ll be just fine in their division and could be in the playoffs for the foreseeable future.

USC’s Cameron Smith is the best linebacker in the PAC-12, if not in the entire country. He’s not only a great talent, but also a leader that can be the glue that holds together every level of a defense like he is with the Trojans.
