3. Texas blows the spread out of the water

If Texas continues to play the way they did against USC, then Iowa State will have a rough going on this week. Moreover, this is another chance for the Horns to show to the entire college football world that they’re a new and better team, in the national spotlight.

The Big 12 had some surprising results last week, in a few of the conference openers. The Oklahoma State Cowboys lost to the TCU Horned Frogs by a 13-point margin. And, the Oklahoma Sooners were nearly upset by the winless Baylor Bears.

Both Texas and Iowa State are coming off bye weeks. Each team should be rested and ready to go. Yet, Jack Trice Stadium has been a tricky place for good teams to play in the past. The Horns did not even compete with the Clones in their last trip to Ames.

However, Texas will get their second consecutive victory against Iowa State in their midweek contest. Texas just looks like the better team this year and they will have too much motivation entering conference play.
