The biggest game of the midweek slate is the USC Trojans vs. Washington State Cougars on Sep. 29 at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash.

The No. 5 ranked USC Trojans has a huge chance to show what they can do against another tough Pac-12 opponent as they place cross-conference against the No. 16 ranked Washington State Cougars.

This is the first meeting between USC and Washington State since the 2014 college football season. In 2014, USC took down the Cougars by a final score of 44-17. That was actually Wazzu senior quarterback Luke Falk’s first season with the program. He would end up winning the starting job that he has not relinquished to this day later that year.

USC-Washington State is the biggest game of the week before the bulk of the action starts on Saturday. Other games to watch this week include the Texas Longhorns taking on the Iowa State Cyclones and the Miami Hurricanes facing the Duke Blue Devils. However, only Miami is ranked of those four teams.

Both USC and Washington State are ranked teams in the hunt for the Pac-12 title. USC has a clear path to the Pac-12 Championship Game after starting out 2-0 in conference play. Meanwhile, Wazzu won their conference opener against the Oregon State Beavers two weeks ago and will directly compete with the Washington Huskies for the PAC-12 North division title.

Last week, USC defeated the Cal Golden Bears to the tune of a 30-20 final score. Wazzu had an easy time with the Nevada Wolfpack, winning by a 38-point margin. Each team has a considerable amount of confidence and momentum entering this matchup.

Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the USC Trojans vs. Washington State Cougars in Week 5.
