Auburn Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Mississippi State in Week 5
The Auburn football program can notch their fourth win of the season in Week 5 against a tough opponent in the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
It’s getting time for the No. 13 Auburn Tigers to heat up and really challenge the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC West. Their ranking took a hit after they lost to the Clemson Tigers earlier in the season. They can continue to recover in Week 5 as they take on the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
There’s some pressure on Mississippi State to recover from their 31-3 loss at the hands of the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs last week. Auburn might actually be just as good as Georgia this year, which would mean another rough outing for Mississippi State.
It’ll be a dogfight in the middle of the SEC West for positioning under Alabama over the next few weeks. With the Texas A&M Aggies seemingly putting things together under head coach Kevin Sumlin, they could be a tough out. The Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks will still pose tough tests for almost any opponent. Not to mention the LSU Tigers.
Last week, Auburn opened their SEC slate against the regressing Missouri Tigers, resulting in a 51-14 victory. Mississippi State is a much better team than Mizzou. Right now, Auburn looks like the second-best team in the SEC West.
Meanwhile, Mississippi State was a tale of team different teams that showed up in the last two weeks. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs looked great in a 30-point victory over LSU. However, their 28-point loss to Georgia exposed some flaws.
Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers in Week 5.
