In one is sure to be one of the most entertaining matchups of the weekend in the SEC, we get to see Georgia vs Tennessee Saturday afternoon.
The No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs enter their matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers looking to clearly establish themselves as the team to beat in the SEC East. Really only the Florida Gators stand in their way on the path to the SEC Championship Game.
Meanwhile, Tennessee struggled with the UMass Minutemen just one week after they underwent a heartbreaking finish in a loss to the Gators. They need a big performance from junior quarterback Quinten Dormady just to compete with the Dawgs.
If the Vols do not come away from this contest with a win, then they’re contention, for all intents and purposes, is done in the SEC East. Florida and Georgia were expected to be the two teams that contended for the division title entering the season. That seems to be holding up through four weeks of action.
This is the second SEC East opponent that Tennessee has faced. However, this is the first time that the Dawgs take on another team from the SEC East. Last week, Georgia completely derailed the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 31-3. Just one week before, Mississippi State handled a top 15 team in the LSU Tigers in Starkville, MS. It really showed the power of the Dawgs this year.
Both these teams are headed in polar opposite directions right now. Tennessee struggled with a team that would barely be considered an FBS quality squad. Georgia just took down an upstart top 20 ranked opponent by a 28-point margin.
Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Georgia Bulldogs vs. Tennessee Volunteers in Week 5.
