With Week 4 in the books, let’s take a look at the New Year’s Six bowl projections with some new teams in the fold.

As the college football season gets ready to enter the month of October, we’re starting to the see the first real fluid action when it comes to the New Year’s Six Bowls. For the second straight week, we see a team get pushed out of the Peach Bowl and this time it’s due to a loss.

However one of the biggest changes has occurred as the ACC’s Orange Bowl bid starts a very fascinating rotation. Week 5 will present even more fascinating adventures and more opportunities to see the NY6 landscape shift.

Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic: Ohio State (at-large) vs. Georgia (at-large)
Where: AT&T Stadium (Dallas, Texas)
When: Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: Ohio State vs. Georgia

This Cotton Bowl matchup features two teams that have a chance to make some movement later on in the season but for right now it’s all about finding their way into the playoff and much more comfortable bowl positioning. As Georgia and Ohio State make their way throughout the season, this bowl becomes a good holding spot and now with every loss that happens above them, each team can move a step closer to a possible playoff.

Both teams had successful weeks and are now inching closer into conference play. Georgia is playing some of the best ball all season after they quickly dispatched the Mississippi State Bulldogs last Saturday. After slapping around Army and UNLV in back to back weeks, the Buckeyes fully integrate themselves into Big Ten play with a trip to Rutgers.

Week 5 Impact: There’s outside of possible movement in the playoff projections so any chance either team would have to move closer to the projected top four is if Clemson were to go down at Virginia Tech. After traveling to Notre Dame and winning a few weeks back, Georgia has the chance to pick up another road win at struggling Tennessee. Georgia and Ohio State shouldn’t see much hurt or harm for the month of October. Ironically enough the last week of the month will give both teams tough tests. Ohio State hosts Penn State and Georgia has their annual game against Florida.
