BYU football hasn’t started the 2017 season well. It’s about to get worse with a loss at Utah State. Here are three reasons the Aggies spring the upset.

It’s been a nightmare. There hasn’t been much, if any, positive signs to take away from the start of the 2017 BYU football season. The Cougars began the season with a 20-6 win over Portland State, but since then, it’s been a whole lot of misery.

BYU has dropped three consecutive contests to three Power 5 teams. One from the SEC (LSU, 27-0), one from the Pac-12 (Utah, 19-13) and the last one coming at the hands of Wisconsin (40-6).

The losses have been one-sided and uninspiring. Even though the season feels over, the Cougars still have nine more games to play. Fortunately, BYU only has one currently ranked team on their schedule. They travel to No. 24 Mississippi State in October. Other than that, a home game against Boise State following their tilt with the Aggies seems to be the only other major challenge remaining.

Sometimes, though, when it rains, it pours. BYU’s season is going to get a lot worse before it get’s better. Here are three reasons BYU will be upset by Utah State in Week 5.
