There are only three Big 12 matchups this weekend, and one of those is an intriguing one between Oklahoma State football and Texas Tech.

After an upset at the hands of the TCU Horned Frogs, the No. 15 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys get the first shot at redemption in Week 5 against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Lubbock, TX, is the sight of what promises to be one of the highest-scoring affairs of the weekend at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Some of the scores from Oklahoma State-Texas Tech in recent years have been absolutely crazy. Last year, Oklahoma State barely topped the Red Raiders due to a missed extra point in the fourth quarter which resulted in a 45-44 victory. The year before, the Pokes pulled away in the second half to the tune of a 70-55 victory.

Defense has been a very hard thing for these two teams to come by when they meet. This year might not be any different. Not to mention the motivation level of both squads. Considering the result from the 2016 game, Texas Tech will not forget how that ended anytime soon.

Last week, Texas Tech won a close one against the Houston Cougars. Texas Tech’s out of conference results were more than most probably expected out of them. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is still feeling the heat as he’s on one of the hottest seats in the country. A win this week would likely let him keep his job for the rest of the season.

Oklahoma State is coming off a lame effort against TCU, where they lost 44-31 at home. Quarterback Mason Rudolph was responsible for three turnovers.

Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders in Week 5.
