USF football heads to East Carolina for a potential trap game this week. Here are three bold predictions for the matchup between the Bulls and Pirates.

USF continues its run toward an American Athletic Conference title with this week’s road trip to East Carolina. The Pirates are always a tough out on their home turf, even if ECU is currently 1-3 at this point of the season.

The two teams have a stuttering rivalry that originally started when they were both members of Conference USA, but stalled when the Bulls moved to the Big East in 2005. Once the Big East collapsed and East Carolina moved over to the newly-rebranded American, it rekindled the annual showdown between the two teams that never previously got a chance to grow.

In their previous seven meetings, USF has won six of the contests. As more than a three-touchdown underdog at home, East Carolina will have a tall task to notch their second-ever win over the Bulls.

The more logical question is whether South Florida will cover the spread prior to halftime, or whether they will need the second half to get over that point spread. With that in mind, here are three bold predictions for this year’s showdown between the Bulls and the Pirates in Greenville on Saturday afternoon.
