Georgia football dominated the Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium in the first SEC East matchup of the season for the Dawgs.

In recent years, we’ve seen the Tennessee Volunteers compete hard with the Georgia Bulldogs, and they even won the last two meetings. Yet, No. 7 Georgia did not show the Vols any mercy in Week 5 as nothing seemed to go right for Tennessee.

With the way the Dawgs looked against Tennessee, compared to how the Florida Gators played them just two weeks ago, UGA might be the clear SEC East favorite right now. It’s going to come down to Florida and Georgia once again.

Things completely hit the fan for the Vols in this game. From fans fighting in the stands, to nearly everyone calling for the head of Butch Jones, Tennessee is not a football program headed in the right direction right now.

Nothing came easy to the Vols as they experienced a 41-0 defeat at the hands of the Dawgs. Few expected this type of victory for UGA, even with how good they have looked this year. Head coach Kirby Smart has a serious contender in Athens, GA, this year.

A great example of how Tennessee’s day went today was when running back John Kelly broke free for a 44 yard reception but ended up fumbling the ball away when it looked like the Vols could finally get some momentum back.

Now, let’s take a look at three takeaways from Georgia’s win over the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 5.
