2. Lamar Jackson is leading the Heisman race

Is this a surprise? It shouldn’t be. Lamar Jackson won the Heisman Trophy last season and he should be a favorite to repeat, but some have fallen off the bandwagon after his loss to Clemson a couple of weeks ago. Can one truly be eliminated from the race after a so-so game against arguably the best defense in college football?

Short answer is no, and Jackson proved that against Murray State, passing for249 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another 100 and another score. Oh yeah, and he did this in just a half of play as he was replaced in the final 30 minutes with Jawon Pass.

Surprisingly, Pass was effective, throwing the ball accurately and often for a backup quarterback, but he was overshadowed by the play of his Heisman-contending peer.

Jackson had one minor setback this season, but he’s putting up video game-like numbers for the second straight season. He has already passed for over 1,600 yards, 13 touchdowns and has rushed for nearly 450 yards and four more scores. Heisman favorite?  I think so.
