College football is well under way. In Week 5, there weren’t many AP Top 25 matchups, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have great action.

This is the fourth installment of “overreaction Sunday” for the 2017 college football season. I took a week off from the overreactions because of technical issues, but from my Week 3 reactions, I talked about the LSU offense’s inability to get across the end zone. And how Mason Rudolph is the No. 1 quarterback  in the nation — I might have been wrong about that.

To begin Week 6, let’s first take a look back at my “overreactions” from Week 5.

1. Saquon Barkley will win the Heisman

For weeks, I was been trying to find a better player in college football than Penn State’s Saquon Barkley. Before the start of the regular season, my Heisman pick was Mason Rudolph. I didn’t think Lamar Jackson couldn’t repeat and I didn’t and still don’t buy into the Sam Darnold hype.

In Week 5, I give up. Barkley is the best player in college football. And will win the Heisman.

Barkley always was a top-five player this year in college football, but thinking a quarterback would win the Heisman is always a safe bet.

Not this year.

After seeing him help keep the game afloat on the game-winning drive in Week 4 and how he totally dominated in Week 5 against Indiana. He has my (imaginary) Heisman vote.

What I like about the game was that Barkley didn’t have a great game running it, but still affected the game in other ways.

To start the game, Barkley took the opening kickoff 98 yards for the score. He is the first player in last 20 years to have 50 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards, a passing touchdown and a return touchdown. Whenever you have a running back throwing a touchdown pass up 38-14, you know the coach and the team really wants the Heisman for him.
