If the College Football Playoff started today who deserves the top four spots?  Even better, here are the real top 10 teams in the country after Week 5.

Things in college football are going to start to get real interesting real fast over the next few weeks. There will be a lot of movement coming in the Unafraid Top 10 College Football Playoff Projections. Teams that are still undefeated due to a mediocre schedule will have to face tough conference foes, and rivalry games.

The debate about which confront is best will start up very soon. As for now, the best conference top to bottom is the Pac-12. The Unafraid Top 10 will never lead you astray.

Before we get started let me read you the #Unafraid College Football Playoff Top 10 fine print:

If you are a real College Football fan, the #Unafraid Top 10 is for you. Our Top 10 is accurate and decided exclusively by accomplishment rather than potential like most well-known polls. Future schedules and games are not accounted for. The only things that matter are the results. The #Unafraid Top 10 does what the College Football Playoff Committee has neglected to do. Teams that play and beat tough competition are rewarded. Teams that schedule poor competition are Top 10 road kill.

Sometimes I get a little bored watching Wisconsin play football, but part of me appreciates their methodical style of play. It’s almost like watching boxing and awarding points for ring generalship. The nameless and faceless robots that play football for the Badgers are a good team, but they have their work cut out for them to stay in the Unafraid Top 10. Their schedule is soft, as it does not include Penn State or Ohio State in conference play. So, they may find themselves on the outside looking in.

I keep waiting for the Washington Huskies to make good on me naming them the most overrated team in college football, but their schedule won’t let me be great. They have yet to play even a top 45, yes you read that correctly, haven’t played a top 45 team yet.  Truth be told, I really feel conflicted about them being in the #Unafraid Top 10 College Football Playoff Projections but they are continuously dominant on the field. However, It

Even though I did not put Georgia on my most overrated teams of 2017, I am still waiting on the Bulldogs to inevitably fall apart. Something always happens to derail Georgia from getting over the hump. This team looks legit though.  Georgia has been absolutely dominant in the last two weeks with decisive victories over Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Baker Mayfield and the Sooners got an early season BYE in week 5. It is always interesting to see how teams respond after a BYE. Some teams come out and play better, while some show signs of rust. I will be curious to see if first year head coach Lincoln Riley can have his team up for what could be a trap game.

Huge test coming for the 4-0 Wolverines against their in state rival Michigan State Spartans in Week 6. Coming off a BYE should help the Wolverines figure out their quarterback situation, and be prepared for the emotions of a huge rivalry game. Michigan is getting to the thick of their schedule and will need to be much more productive offensively to compete for the Big Ten Championship.

After surviving a scare from Iowa in week 4, the Nittany Lions got back to domination. They beat an Indiana team 45-14 that gave Ohio State three quarters of trouble. Star running back Saquon Barkley had a relatively quiet day despite returning the opening for a touchdown. It was very encouraging to see Penn State’s offense bounce back after an underwhelming performance against Iowa.

TCU has two weeks to prepare for a tough West Virginia squad. It will be interesting to see how the team handles the success of upsetting the highly ranked and regarded Oklahoma State in week 4. The Big XII is proving that the conference is to be respected, and that it will be extremely hard to leave them out of the College Football Playoff Projections.

Last week the Cougars were ranked No. 9 in the Week 4 Unafraid Top 10 College Football Playoff Projections. This week, they knocked off USC 30-27. Some people want to discount the win because it was a home win on a Friday. The Unafraid Top 10 does not care, a win is a win. The Cougars will be tested in Week 6 when they head to Eugene to play the 4-1 Ducks.

To no fault of their own, Alabama’s schedule has not been tough. FSU and Ole Miss are having down years, so a 66-3 victory over the Rebels is pretty hollow. I will give Alabama credit for absolutely destroying their competition, but they will be unable to claim the No. 1 spot until their schedule gets better or Clemson loses. It does seem like Alabama is playing angry.

The Clemson Tigers went into Blacksburg and dominated a highly regarded Virginia Tech team 31-17. People may be curious as to why Clemson is ranked ahead of Alabama. Remember, the #Unafraid top 10 college football playoff projections are based on resume and accomplishment rather than potential. Clemson has beat Auburn, Louisville, and Virginia Tech. No team in the country even has two wins that good, let alone three.
