UCF thoroughly dominated Memphis in an interdivisional showdown that was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma. The Knights crushed the Tigers 40-13 at home in Orlando to move to 3-0 and claim their first American Athletic Conference victory of the year. As a result, they will likely be one of the teams to climb up into the AP Top 25 for the first time this season.

McKenzie Milton was 19-of-31 for 253 yards and three touchdowns, and he rushed for another 88 yards on 11 carries to pace the offense. Adrian Killins Jr. finished with 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries to lead a strong effort by the backfield. The Knights forced three Riley Ferguson interceptions as Memphis could never gain any momentum on the road.

Even though UCF lost its chance to take down an ACC school when the Georgia Tech game was canceled by Hurricane Irma, they remain a legitimate threat to claim the New Year’s Six bowl invitation for the Group of Five. The Knights head to Cincinnati next weekend hoping to keep pace with South Florida in the AAC East, and the Black Friday showdown against the Bulls on Thanksgiving weekend could be a winner-take-all battle for the division.
