1. Alabama-Clemson rematch is inevitable

I will admit I had my doubts about Clemson during this season especially when it came to the offense. Yes, replacing Deshaun Watson is no easy task but plugging in a new quarterback and using the “keep everything rolling” approach is a dangerous thing to do especially if the quarterback doesn’t fit the system.

After Clemson’s 31-17 victory on the road at Virginia Tech on Saturday night, I am here to announce that Alabama and Clemson are the two best teams in America and it’s not even close.

You hate to admit such a rash statement but with just how good the Clemson offense has been, matching the potency of their defense it is very tough to see how someone could take them down. The victory over Virginia Tech marked the third time that Clemson defeated a top-15 opponent with Auburn and Louisville being the other two victims.

While Alabama’s anvil swinging approach to how they defeat teams has reached the points of boredom, Clemson’s is almost a work of art how they take down a top-15 team. While Penn State, Oklahoma and Washington have been just as good at certain point this season it’s clear that the nation’s two best teams reside in Alabama and South Carolina. Until then, everybody else is just playing for a spot in the playoff.
