Loser: LSU Tigers (No. 25 to unranked)

The LSU Tigers are struggling. They lost their first nonconference game since the 2000 season, snapping a 49-game home win streak against nonconference opponents. They fell to the Troy Trojans 24-21 despite being 20-point favorites. Running back Jordan Chunn ran for 191 rushing yards and a touchdown against the LSU defense.

Head coach Ed Orgeron may need to adjust the gameplan after falling to a team from the Sun Belt Conference. It is the Tigers second loss in three games and leaves them on the outside looking in in the AP rankings.

It was the Trojans first victory over an SEC team since they defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 21-9 during the 2001 season.

Despite outgaining the Trojans in total yards of offense (428-363), the Tigers had four turnovers including a fumble on the opening drive of the game. The Tigers were also 0-for-9 on third downs.

LSU trailed 14-0 at halftime and didn’t score their first points of the game until the third quarter. After being a marquee victory for the Trojans, let’s see how they bounce back in Week 6 or Orgeron could be the next head coach to see the ax.
