5. Syracuse will give Clemson trouble on Friday the 13th

It seems as if the Friday night ESPN games during the regular season are trouble for the favorite. And this one could fall right into that boat.

Clemson will likely be unbeaten still as long as they can get through Wake Forest this Saturday, meaning the Carrier Dome crowd will be rocking for the Tigers to pay them a visit.

Syracuse, meanwhile, is looking to get to .500 when they host Pittsburgh this Saturday. The Orange are coming off back-to-back close losses at LSU and at North Carolina State. They own wins over Central Michigan and Central Connecticut State, having also lost to Middle Tennessee.

But the Orange could be a problem behind the arm of Eric Dungey and his talented receivers Steve Ishmael and Ervin Philips. Dungey has thrown for over 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns, with Ishmael and Philips combining for most of that. Both are over 40 receptions and 400 yards.

And don’t forget about the motivation factor for the ‘Cuse, as they were shutout last year in Death Valley, 54-0.

But the Tigers are playing exceptional football right now and should be able to quiet the Dome long enough to take an early lead and remain unbeaten.
