Washington football remains the favorite to defend its Pac-12 title, but the next month will be tough. Here are five bold predictions for the Huskies in October.

Washington enters the month of October with a 5-0 record, one of just three teams left in the Pac-12 without a loss. The defending conference champions have won all of their games by double digits so far, blowing out one opponent after another through the first month of the 2017 season.

Chris Petersen’s team has big dreams of returning to the College Football Playoff after falling flat in their trip last season. Despite the loss of talent from last year’s championship team, Washington is playing at an even higher level this season. The reloaded defense has been stifling, the offense has been effective, and the Huskies overpower opponents on special teams. Nobody has yet found an answer for dealing with the wealth of skill coming out of Seattle.

Washington currently sits outside the top four in the AP Top 25, but they are playing as well as any other team in the country at the moment. After dominating all of their competition in September, what will October hold in store for the Huskies?

Here are five bold predictions for how the next month will play play out for Washington in Pac-12 play.
