5. South Carolina has one dimensional offense

The Gamecocks almost entirely rely on Jake Bentley to run the offense. South Carolina’s ground game has been inconsistent to say the least. Sophomore running back Rico Dowdle took four carries for less than zero yards last week.

Fellow sophomore running back Ty’Son Williams leads South Carolina in rushing yards with 245 on 41 carries. Williams could end up being the answer for the Gamecocks on the ground but it’s too early to tell. Dowdle was the presumed starter entering the season.

Bentley has put together a solid sophomore campaign. However, without Deebo Samuel and a consistent run game to open things up, too much has been put on his shoulders. He also had some turnover trouble in a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats and close win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Arkansas can prepare for an offense that only presents a threat through the air. Santos Ramirez, Henre’ Toliver, and Kevin Richardson could all have chance at intercepting their second pass of the year. We’ll see how South Carolina’s offense performs against a good defense.
