Fiesta Bowl

Playstation Fiesta Bowl: Washington (at-large) vs. Wisconsin (at-large)
Where: University of Phenix Stadium (Glendale, Ariz.)
When: Dec. 30 at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: Washington vs. Wisconsin

Literally the only bowl game that had no movement this past week. I’m not sure that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Both Washington and Wisconsin have done their job when it comes to doing what it takes to not only be in the bowl projections from week to week but they remain undefeated. The only thing that hurts them is that there are teams or in this case one, that is holding them off from doing anything, they can unite in the sense that Penn State is holding them back from doing anything.

When USC lost, that opened a spot for either Penn State or Washington to move into the playoff and right now I’m giving the Nittany Lions the edge over the Huskies, until Penn State loses a game. As for Wisconsin, not only is Penn State a thorn in their bowl projection side but Ohio State is as well. Since Penn State moved up to the playoff (spoiler alert) Ohio State moves past the Badgers because I think they are a better team at this point in the season. However, I don’t think Wisconsin fans will be too upset if they have to go down to Glendale for the Fiesta Bowl. Hey, it beats Madison, WI at the start of January.

Week 6 Impact: Washington has a somewhat dangerous game as they host Cal late Saturday night, it would be the first real substantial win for the Huskies this season. Wisconsin travels to Nebraska in a somewhat tricky road game because you know that Nebraska will come out and make it tough for Wisconsin (at least I think Nebraska still has enough fight to do so).
