Thursday night match-ups can be hit or miss, but this week it appears to be a great contest. Louisville travels to Raleigh to take on NC State. Both teams enter the game at 4-1 and the Cardinals are three-point favorites.

The big question when any team takes on Louisville is how much can their defense slow down quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Wolfpack defense needs to hold up and they have a great defensive front four to do so, led by Bradley Chubb. Louisville may have Jackson, but they do turn over the ball a lot, with 10 turnovers already on the season. NC State needs to be opportunistic and jump on any opportunity that the Cardinals give them.

The spotlight is always on Jackson, but the Wolfpack have a pretty good quarterback of their own. Ryan Finley has been great so far through five games. He has thrown for over 1,400 yards, has a 71.9 completion percentage, thrown nine touchdowns and most importantly, thrown no interceptions.

This is NC State’s moment on a national stage to prove they are a contender in the ACC. They still have Clemson on the schedule in November, but own a victory over Florida State. If they can upset Louisville, their confidence will grow even more.
