Louisville Football: 5 bold predictions for Cardinals in October
By Jesse Smith
Louisville football is facing a big month of October and here are five bold predictions for the Cardinals.
The Louisville Cardinals have been in the news a lot the last few weeks because of the Adidas scandal that cited head basketball coach Rick Pitino. Louisville lost its athletic director and the basketball side seems to be in shambles, but the football team is still pretty good.
Here are five bold predictions for the Cardinals in the month of October.
5. Louisville will lose at least one game in October
In October, Louisville has four games, I know probably every team has four games unless you have a bye, but when you dig deeper you see there is a chance they could have another blip on the radar.
Louisville’s October schedule:
Oct. 5 — at N.C. State
Oct. 14 — vs. Boston College
Oct. 21 — at Florida State
Oct. 28 — at Wake Forest
The first weekend of October, the Cardinals have to travel to Raleigh, N.C., to face No. 24 NC State. The Wolfpack have been a surprise to the outsiders of the ACC as they are currently 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC Atlantic division. Playing a team of this caliber on the road will be tough.
In the second weekend, they get Boston College at home, but the curse of playing Boston College at home is they are the weakest team on the current month’s schedule. So I’m guaranteeing that game as a win.
The third and fourth weekend will be interesting as both games are on the road. The masses have written off Florida State, but the more reps freshman quarterback James Blackman gets, the more dangerous the Seminoles will be. So don’t count out Florida State, they are defiantly battle-tested. Wake Forest is the dark-horse on name alone, but it is currently sitting at 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the ACC.
NC State and FSU could both be losses and don’t count out Wake Forest pulling off an upset. Louisville will at least lose once this month, with a possibility of a 2-2 month. I’m calling it now, if I’m wrong meet me in the comments or on Twitter.
