With Oregon’s starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, out for 4-6 weeks, the Ducks will try to muster offense against Alex Grinch’s impressive Washington State football defense. Here are my bold predictions for Saturday night’s game.

The Oregon Ducks had finally found their starting quarterback. Justin Herbert was a star on the rise in Eugene after two relatively uneventful years of quarterback play for the Ducks after Marcus Mariota left for the NFL.

Herbert had the Ducks at 4-1 while throwing for over 1,200 yards and nine touchdowns with only two interceptions. He was injured on a rushing touchdown against the Cal Bears a week ago, leaving Oregon fans wondering who will take his place.

Willie Taggart’s offense is now led by Taylor Allie, who also left the game after being banged up against the Bears. Allie, a senior, has throw 34 passes in his four seasons in Eugene. The 6-foot-0, 190-pound senior passer is also from Sheldon High School in Eugene isn’t much like Herbert. Allie finished the Cal game 9-of-13 passing with an interception off 3.15 yards per attempt. Yes, it was that bad.

Washington State is coming off a historic victory over the USC Trojans which Mike Leach described as, “It’s like Woodstock but everybody’s got their clothes on.” That’s a pretty impressive win from the Cougs and Leach has to get his team focused on traveling to Autzen Stadium which has a rowdy crowd and high intensity since Taggart took over the Ducks.

Luke Falk threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns with one interception against the Trojans. The Cougs defense held Heisman hopeful Sam Darnold to 164 yards and an interception. Now let’s see these bold predictions.
