5. October starts with a taste of success

Let’s go back to the year 2013 just for a second. Being a Razorback fan that football season was so hard. Arkansas finished the season 3-9 and with absolutely no wins in the SEC.

After a horrible loss to LSU, head coach Bret Bielema came out to face the media in his post-game presser. As he made his way through that interview, the teary-eyed head coach got as real as one could get on what he was feeling, what he wanted and what his plan was to do.

"“I grew up on a farm. You didn’t want certain animals to taste blood because once they taste blood you have got to kill them because they’ll keep coming back for it. I think our players will do the same once they grasp it and truly get the feeling of what beating somebody’s will out of them can do to a person.”- Bret Bielema 11/29/2013"

It’s hard to understand without being in that emotional state for yourself but for Arkansas fans, when they heard that, it was like tears of pain turned to tears of hope. I heard him say that and in that moment, I had an understanding of his vision. In that moment, through all loss, I had hope.

October is a chance for Bret Bielema to do something great but it all starts with one thing. Bielema must do all he can, all his staff can, to give his Arkansas Razorbacks that taste of victory.

Arkansas will begin their fall in South Carolina to face a very solid Gamecocks team. I have written here on what I feel like the outcome will be but in this piece, I am using it as a launching point for my predictions for Arkansas in October.

The Razorbacks will beat South Carolina to start with a taste of victory.
