1. Ole Miss upsets Auburn

You want a bold prediction? I’ll give you a bold prediction (you’re welcome).

Yes this is a really bold prediction but that’s why you cam here to read this right? Whether you agree or not, there is a chance that Ole Miss could upset the Tigers. Auburn in the Gus Malzahn era has had a habit of playing down to the level of their competition. We’ve already seen this already this season when Auburn defeated Mercer 24-10, a game that Auburn should have easily won more handily than they did.

The Tigers are riding high after their 49-10 demolition of Mississippi State. Auburn has also been prone to offensive issues this season, mostly from a lack of consistency from quarterback Jarrett Stidham. He seemed to put it all together last week, but will that carry over? All signs point to the fact that Auburn better stay on their toes and not go into this game thinking it’ll be an easy win.

The biggest obstacle for Ole Miss will be to score on the Tiger defense. The Rebel offense hasn’t looked great lately and the Auburn defense is the second best the Rebels will face all year. That doesn’t matchup well for a Rebel victory but the Ole Miss offense has the talent to get some points on Auburn. As mentioned earlier, Auburn plays down to competition. If Auburn does that against Ole Miss then it could spell trouble for the Tigers.

My personal opinion? I think the Rebel offense breaks out of its slump and Shea Patterson has his best game of the year. I think the running game shows up for the Rebels to get them wins on first down, and I think the Rebel receivers won’t be stopped when Patterson gets hot. So yes, I’m calling the upset. Rebels go down to the plains and steal one from the Tigers to kick off what should be a strong October for Ole Miss.
