5. Jordan Lasley joins Darren Andrews atop national receiving TD charts
At this point of the season, UCLA can boast three of the top 20 receivers in the nation. Redshirt senior Darren Andrews is the star of the Bruins receiving corps, as he leads the nation in touchdown catches and ranks in the top five in receiving yards. He will get at least a touchdown catch per game in the month.
But as teams target Andrews more in October, it will open things up further for the other receivers on the UCLA roster. Jordan Lasley, in particular, is going to have a monster October. Though he has fewer total receiving yards than Andrews at this point, that is entirely because he sat out the Hawaii game. Lasley is averaging more yards per game than Andrews, and he will pass his teammate in total yards by the end of the month.
Another weapon that has been targeted regularly by Josh Rosen is tight end Caleb Wilson. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound sophomore ranks second on the team in receiving yards, with 490 in his first five games. After suffering a foot injury in the win against Colorado, though, Wilson is now out for the season.
Austin Roberts will step up at the tight end position, but Lasley and Andrews will also pick up the slack. By the end of October, Lasley and Andrews will hold the top two spots in the nation in receiving yards and touchdowns.
