Ohio State football remains undefeated in conference play after defeating Maryland at home. Here are three things we learned in Week 6.

Well, that game got out of hand in a hurry.

After absolutely embarrassing Rutgers in Week 5, Maryland looked like a team who could have at least given Ohio State a challenge, but again that would not be the case.

After scoring an impressive 19 touchdowns and averaging 408.3 yards of offense per game over the first month of the season, Maryland’s offensive firepower absolutely vanished against the Buckeyes in Columbus. The Terps had only 66 total yards of offense, one touchdown and six first downs against Urban Meyer’s squad.

To put things into context, Ohio State scored 62 points on 584 yards and an impressive 33 first downs in Week 6. They proved that they are among the nation’s best teams.

The Buckeyes even had an opportunity to give their backups almost a quarters worth of playing time, with backup quarterback Dwayne Hoskins getting another chance to experience in-game reps as a foil to Ohio State’s all-time leading passer J.T. Barrett.

Even though rookie J.K. Dobbins again failed to reach 100-yards rushing for the third consecutive week, he averaged an impressive 7.4 yards per carry. He looks like a potential cornerstone for the Buckeyes offense for years to come.

Simply put, this was a statement to the rest of college football proving that even with one loss, Ohio State is still a team that should be feared, and could very well run the table in 2017.
