4. Record breaker

The records J.T. Barrett has broken confirm his capability of being a contributing player. Numerous Ohio State and Big Ten records legitimize the argument to keep him as the starter.

Granted, some of the touchdowns and yards have been off of simple touch passes and screens, but still, J.T. was the one who did it. They’ll show up on the scoreboard no matter how it’s executed.

Breaking the record of most touchdowns by a Big Ten player was a huge accomplishment for Barrett. Not many guys have what it takes to break a record held by Drew Brees.

115 touchdowns accounted for is a record that may never be touched again in Ohio State, or Big Ten, history. With at least seven games remaining, the record will only become more unbreakable.

It would be difficult to demote J.T. for someone who is way less accomplished. The offense would have to turn basically dysfunctional for this to happen.
