3. Wide receivers haven’t been much help

Ohio State’s wide receivers haven’t exactly helped J.T. Barrett out in the passing game very much. Starting in week one, drops have been an issue.

The deep passing game has been a concern for a while now, which is just as much the fault of the receivers as it is on J.T.

Ever since the departure of Michael Thomas, there hasn’t really been a consistent go-to receiver for the Buckeyes. There are a few emerging options, but the sooner it happens the better.

One play in particular that stood out was the drop by Parris Campbell in the Indiana game. A pass right on the money was dropped in the endzone, which is inexcusable.

Drops have been an issue for Campbell, which may limit the routes he runs down the field. Johnnie Dixon, on the other hand, is a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the year. He’s been waiting to get on the field after injuries and is now taking advantage.
