West Virginia Football: 3 Takeaways from loss to TCU in Week 6
West Virginia football played a wild game with TCU that came down to the final drive. Here are three things we learned from the Horned Frog victory.
Game by game TCU has taken care of business. Outside of a 63-point shutout over Jackson State in their opener, their wins haven’t been all that flashy. But they’ve been wins. Arkansas, SMU and Oklahoma State have all fallen victim to the quietly elite Horned Frogs.
West Virginia, the road team in Satuday’s tilt, had overpowered all three of their opponents since an opening night 7-point defeat at the hands of Virginia Tech. The high-powered offense of the Mountaineers was looking for a few more big plays against TCU on Saturday.
The two teams traded blows well into the fourth quarter until TCU walked away with the victory. The Horned Frog win was aided by an offensive pass interference call charged to David Sills V. Having such a great game decided by a penalty was unfortunate, but the Horned Frogs were impressive in this one regardless. The win puts TCU (yes, TCU) in sole possession of first place in the Big 12 through the first half of the 2017 season. How about that?
