Penn State Football: Positional report card for win over Northwestern
By Shane Lunnen
Solid day for Trace McSorley. He only had one touchdown pass on the day, but he was efficient in leading scoring drives once the Penn State offense got going. Not turning the ball over was key for Penn State.
McSorley finished the day with 245 yards and the touchdown to Tommy Stevens. He went 25 for 34 which is an impressive 73.5 completion percentage. When the Penn State offense started to click in the second quarter and into the second half, McSorley threw 14 completions in a row. He also got the Lions last score of the day with his feet, a five yard scamper into the endzone.
This year, McSorley seems to have developed a little bit of jittery feet in the pocket. Maybe it is because of the shaky line play, but it has caused him to miss receivers that last year he was hitting. Something to watch going forward against the Wolverine and Buckeye defenses that will get after him.

The good thing about McSorley is that he is a true competitor and leader of this team. Penn State will never be out of a game because of his play.
