UCF Football only need three quarters to do away with Cincinnati as storms forced a cancellation of the game with seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Lightening caused a delay with four ticks left on the clock in the third quarter of what was never a close game between Central Florida and Cincinnati. After the delay had crept over an hour, with no end in sight, the decision was made to call it a night. Despite just two full quarters in the books, the score will stand and UCF will be credited with a victory.

Now, before any naysayers cry foul, it’s worth noting that the Knights led the Bearcats 51-23. The game was over, and the Knights more than earned their fourth consecutive victory of the season.

There wasn’t a facet of the game that wasn’t working for UCF on Saturday. Quarterback McKenzie Milton threw more touchdown passes (five) than incompletions (three) as he racked up 374 yards with a stunning 84.2 completion percentage.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Knights added another 141 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. They did all that on just 21 carries, good for 6.7 yards per carry.

The Knights might not get any national attention this week. They didn’t push Alabama to the brink or upset the Michigan Wolverines, but they quietly stayed undefeated. The list of unbeatens continues to shrink and the Knights have managed to stick around in the polls. For a team from the AAC that started the season completely anonymous, that’s not too shabby.

The Knights take on East Carolina next weekend as they look to stretch their winning streak to five games.
