Wisconsin football ran wild in a Big Ten West bout against Nebraska. Here are three things we learned in the team’s Week 6 game against the Cornhuskers.

Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten West.

In a week where seemingly every other contender for the division title lost in heartbreaking fashion, the Badgers’ faced off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and proved exactly why they are the West’s top dog.

After trading blows for much of the first half, Paul Chryst’s squad came out of halftime on a mission and put the Cornhuskers away in impressive fashion.

Lead by freshman running back Johnathan Taylor, who’s 250 rushing yards on 25 carries lead the team, and was the third best mark of any back in all of college football in Week 6, the Badgers outscored the Cornhuskers by a score of 21-7 after halftime and ultimately ran the clock out in the fourth quarter against a depleted Cornhuskers defense.

With only one game left against a ranked opponent in the regular season, a Week 12 game against No. 7 Michigan, Wisconsin should win the Big Ten West with relative ease, and will coast into the Big Ten Championship game for the second year in a row.

Built stoutly in the trenches, Wisconsin’s entire game is built around tiring out their opponents and beating them into submission at the line of scrimmage, a winning formula in the age of small ball.
