The life of a quarterback in college football can be a short one. Georgia football‘s former starter Jacob Eason is experiencing that right now.

Eason, who started as a true freshman last year for the Bulldogs, finds himself behind Jake Fromm and likely no higher than third-string come next season after the commitment of top 2018 recruit Justin Fields.

How did Eason end up here? Bad luck, really.

After holding in to the starting job through preseason, Eason was injured in Week 1 vs. Appalachian State. Fromm came on and has moved the Dawgs right through this first portion of the schedule with relative ease.

Eason finally returned from a three-game hiatus at Tennessee, attempting one pass. He was 3-for-3 recently vs. Vanderbilt for 24 yards, adding to the one completion he had in the opener.

Last year, Eason was 204 of 370 for 2,430 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. A 6-foot-5, 235-pounder from Lake Stevens, Washington, Eason was a top recruit himself. He committed to Georgia in 2014 after receiving 16 offers.

So, if Eason decides one year is enough in Athens, where might he end up? Here’s a look at five possible destinations in no particular order:
