Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma State. Mason Rudolph. 3. player. QB. 30

I’m throwing a curveball with the No. 3 overall pick to the New York Jets. Surprisingly, the Jets have won three consecutive games, improving to 3-2 on the season, but clearly the Super Bowl odds before Week 5 didn’t care about how hot they were.

Back to the actual selection, though. I’m going to say the Jets finally draft a reliable quarterback that will fix their issues under center. Josh McCown hasn’t been too shabby this season, passing for just over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns in five games, but he’s 38 years old.

It’s time to truly look at the future of the quarterback position and realize that neither Bryce Petty nor Christian Hackenberg, barring a drastic turnaround, will lead this team to the playoffs anytime soon.

Mason Rudolph may have just established him as the true No. 2 quarterback in this top-heavy class of gunslingers. He had a bye in Week 6, but has amassed 1,909 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions in five games this season. He has thrown for over 300 yards each week and is completing 68 percent of his throws. Stud.
