Week 7 of SEC football went just about as expected meaning there was very little change atop the conference power rankings.
Alabama, Auburn and Georgia continue to roll as the rest of the SEC continues to sort itself out at the midway point of the season. The Week 7 power rankings are here, and spoiler alert, no change in the top three teams. So where does that leave the rest of the SEC?
We have officially reached the halfway point of the season and as of now three teams have separated themselves from the rest of the SEC. Alabama, Auburn and Georgia look like the teams capable of representing the SEC in the College Football Playoff. That means Alabama and Auburn are on a collision course in this years Iron Bowl.
The SEC East looks to be a lock for Georgia, but they have to beat Florida in order to make that a reality. The Gators to this point have only one SEC loss and that was to LSU, the Gators will be the biggest threat to Georgia.
With three teams that are far above the rest of the SEC, that doesn’t make the rest of the conference any less interesting. While yes, the conference is down this year, there are still very competitive teams that will make the last half of the season very interesting. Florida, LSU, Texas A&M and Kentucky among others will be teams to keep an eye on as we go forward.
We begin this weeks power rankings with a very familiar face at No. 14.
